Hi, I’m Laurene, a certified Health Coach specialising in nutrition and energy. Like most people, I have struggled with my diet for many years. I did spend a lot of time thinking about food, looking for ways to improve my body image through what I was eating (or not eating), and more often than not trying to lose a few pounds.
I have always loved cooking and experimenting with food, which helped me discover new ways of eating, new ingredients, and realise that food can really have an impact on how you feel, and that it is possible to have a healthy relationship with food while also enjoying every bit of it!
Of course it is not just food, your whole lifestyle and the choices you make can all play a role in your energy levels and your health overall, which is why I love being a Health Coach, as it brings together different parts of life together, and it can be tailored to suit each individual’s life and personality.
Having two young children, I understand how busy life can get. Too often we get lost in a juggling act, and we forget to take care of ourselves, whether it is through eating enough to sustain ourselves and have enough energy to go through the day, sleeping enough or taking some well deserved me-time. Or we end up doing too much, trying to have it all and be there for everyone else but ourselves.
There is a lot of information out there on what we should eat, how we should exercise, and how many hours of sleep we should get. We all know we should me more healthy, but all the conflicting advice makes it so hard to know where to start. Carbs or no carbs? Coffee or not coffee? Morning yoga or afternoon workout? I hear you, it is a lot to take in, and another thing on your to-do list. As a Health Coach, I do the work for you - and with you. I know that what works for me doesn’t necessarily work for you, which is why every coaching plan I make is unique.
I’m committed to staying up to date with the latest research in nutrition and wellness, continually learning so I can offer guidance that is both practical and evidence-based. I work with women on many different areas, but I am especially passionate about gut health, hormone health and stress management, as well as the psychology of habit building.
What I share with my clients is also what I practice in my own life. I genuinely enjoy cooking healthy food, spending time outdoors and exercising in a way that works for me, and I believe that living in alignment with what energises us is just as important as nutrition and lifestyle choices.
