What Is Holistic Health Coaching?

Holistic Health Coaching is an approach that recognises that your health is shaped by your daily habits, lifestyle, mindset and environment — not just one single factor. Everything is connected, and how you feel is often the result of several small influences working together.

In my practice, holistic health coaching means stepping back and looking at the full picture of your life. Rather than isolating symptoms or chasing quick fixes, we explore how nutrition, sleep, stress, movement and routines interact and influence your energy, mood and overall wellbeing.

This approach is about sustainable change. There are no extreme plans or rigid rules to follow. Instead, I support you in making realistic adjustments that feel manageable and supportive over time.

As a holistic health coach, I offer lifestyle-based, science-backed guidance that helps you reconnect with your body, build consistency and feel more balanced in everyday life.

How Holistic Health Coaching Works

Holistic health coaching is collaborative, supportive and shaped around your life. My role is to help you explore what’s currently supporting your wellbeing — and where small changes could make a meaningful difference.

Exploring your lifestyle and routines

Sessions look at how your daily habits, responsibilities and routines influence how you feel, both physically and emotionally.

Looking at key wellbeing areas together

Rather than separating things out, we explore nutrition, sleep, stress and movement as connected parts of your wellbeing.

Understanding the mind-body connection

How you think, feel and respond to daily pressures plays an important role in your health. As a mind body wellness coach, I help you notice these patterns with curiosity rather than judgement.

Introducing realistic, sustainable changes

Changes are kept small and manageable, designed to fit into your everyday life rather than add more pressure.

Ongoing support and adjustment

Your needs will change over time. Regular reflection, encouragement and gentle adjustments help keep your habits supportive and sustainable.

This approach also naturally supports areas such as holistic sleep coaching and natural health coaching, always within a lifestyle-focused framework.

What we will work on

Nutrition

Good nutrition supports your energy, immunity, mental clarity, and long-term health. But this isn't about restriction or perfection; it's about finding what works for your body and your life.

We'll explore your current eating habits and discover simple, sustainable ways to nourish yourself. I'll share practical guidance and recipes that fit your lifestyle, so eating well feels natural, not stressful..

Sleep

Quality sleep is fundamental to how you feel, think, and function. It affects your mood, energy, focus, and your body's ability to repair and restore.

If sleep feels like a struggle, whether it's falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up unrested, we'll work together to build a routine that supports deeper, more restorative rest.

Stress

Chronic stress affects every aspect of your health, from your energy and digestion to your mood and immune system. Managing stress isn't about eliminating it; it's about building resilience and balance.

We'll look at your stress levels and I'll guide you through practical tools to help you feel calmer, more grounded, and better equipped to handle life's demands.

Movement

Movement supports your physical health, but also your mental and emotional wellbeing. The right kind of movement can boost your energy, improve your mood, and help your body feel strong and capable.

Together, we'll find simple, enjoyable ways to move your body that fit your lifestyle and support your overall health goals.

Why a Holistic Approach Matters

Your wellbeing is influenced by many small, interconnected factors. When one area is supported, others often benefit too. Focusing only on one piece of the puzzle can leave you feeling stuck or frustrated.

A holistic approach allows you to build balance across your lifestyle, creating resilience and consistency over time. Small changes, when made across several areas, can have a meaningful impact on how you feel day to day.

This is where working with a health coach within a broader lifestyle framework can be especially helpful — supporting nourishment as part of your overall wellbeing, not in isolation.

I am based in Roslin, Scotland and I do most of my work online. If you live locally and would prefer face-to-face sessions, let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you.

I am a French native speaker so I can also conduct the sessions in French if that is a preferable option.

Testimonials

  • I would strongly recommend Laurene to anyone who is trying to get healthier by making meaningful changes in their life habits. I cannot express how positive my experience with Laurene has been. From the first session, Laurene built a caring and trustworthy environment. She took time to understand my unique challenges, my daily routines and helped me define my goals. Laurene provided me with a custom-made health plan along with advice and strategies to apply it to my daily life. She really managed to set up achievable and reasonable goals which allowed me to feel successful and empowered, in contrast to all the diets I tried along the years! With her expert guidance, I learned a lot about nutrition, exercise but also about the importance of self-care. As a scientist, I particularly appreciated her health advice was based on trustworthy studies. The support and encouragement I received along the follow-up sessions were invaluable. Thanks to her expertise and dedication, I’m achieving my goals, and feeling better and healthier!

  • Laurene's support and guidance have been invaluable to help me focus on my health. Together, through relaxed sessions, she helped me identify key and achievable goals. Laurene created a non-judgmental environment where we were able to explore my health concerns, and to come up with ways to improve my wellbeing. Overall I feel now more confident in myself and I have incorporated these new practices in my daily life. I would highly recommend Laurene, who will gently steer you towards a healthier path.

    - Sandrine, 35

  • I came along to Laurene for coaching as I was feeling so tired in general and demotivated with weight loss. Laurene spent time going into detail about my lifestyle and daily habits. After a long chat she came up with a plan which included small, simple changes which are manageable with my busy lifestyle. She gave me some good supporting information in my plan which included information about making drinking more water easier and different ideas for healthier snacks. These are so important for energy levels and weight loss which I did already know but she made it easier for me to actually put it into my routine. She looked at how many hours I slept and how this was having a huge impact on my daily life and came up with a plan. By sticking to the coaching plan I feel so much better for it.
